GENESIS WOMEN'S SHELTER
Genesis Women's Shelter is a Dallas-based non-profit organization providing safety and shelter to battered women and their children through crisis intervention and short-term therapeutics. Since its founding in 1985, Genesis Women's Shelter has served more than 15,000 women and children at no cost to the client.
Genesis hopes that the eighth annual Conference on Crimes Against Women will inspire others to take a stand against the worldwide epidemic of violence against women.
DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Dallas Police Department (DPD) is proud to be a co-presenter of the eighth annual Conference on Crimes Against Women. While the Department's primary goal is to prevent crime from occurring, it is also deeply committed to solving crimes after they occur. Both violent and property crimes are vigorously and thoroughly investigated by dedicated detectives assigned to both the Special Investigations and the Crimes Against Persons Divisions of the DPD.
By collaborating with Genesis Women's Shelter and the other agencies responsible for this conference, the Dallas Police Department aims to arm attendees with tools for the prevention of the victimization of women and for improved response by the criminal justice system to these crimes.
