SAFVIC
The Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigators Course (SAFVIC) Program is designed to provide law enforcement officers around the state of Texas with the tools they need to effectively investigate and prevent sexual assault and family violence. The SAFVIC Program is comprised of 3 courses: the SAFVIC 24 Hour course for Law Enforcement, SAFVIC for Cybercrimes for Law Enforcement, and SAFVIC for Telecommunication Professionals. The SAFVIC Program is funded by a grant from the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor and the National Violence Against Women Office. This program is administered by the Training & Research Institute for Professional Law Enforcement (TRIPLE) with input from a statewide steering committee composed of representatives from law enforcement, prosecution and victim services.

  • Hospital accompaniment services for sexual assault victims 
  • Individual and/or group counseling for adult and adolescent survivors 
  • Legal information and advocacy 
  • Community education and prevention 
  • Information and support to family and friends of survivors

These services are offered free of charge and with the intent of providing comfort and healing to those impacted by sexual assault. Additionally, The Turning Point is committed to increasing awareness of issues surrounding sexual assault and reducing the frequency of sexual violence in our community.
