Major Douglas Burig is a 22-year veteran of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) where he currently serves as the Director of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Prior to his current position, Major Burig served in numerous disciplines within the PSP including: Director of the Intelligence Division; patrol; criminal investigations; criminal investigation assessment; and analytical intelligence as the commander of the state's primary designated fusion center, the Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center (PaCIC). In October 2006, Major Burig was one of the first responders to the West Nickel Mines Amish School Shooting and was the on-scene incident commander when 10 young girls were shot.
