Michele Galietta

Dr. Michele Galietta is Associate Professor of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Dr. Galietta is a researcher and clinician specializing in the adaptation and dissemination of empirically-supported treatments. For the last decade, she has been studying stalking and interpersonal violence. She has worked with victims of political torture and oppression. Dr. Galietta is well known for being able to simply translate complex principles to clinicians, officers, and line staff. She has trained NYC Police Officers on communicating with mentally ill individuals and hostage negotiations. Dr. Galietta has appeared on CNN and Court TV, and has been cited in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Magazine, and other media outlets.
